[47th of Summer, early morning. Open currently only to Geoff and Kai, but very shortly open to anypony else, and by very shortly, I mean when Geoff leaves Kai's house, and Kai leaves the thread entirely. Also, despite the fact that the bulk of the thread takes place in Darvil, It starts off in Farin, because that's where Kai's home is located. I didn't feel like creating a thread just so Geoff could leave Kai's house, so the thread starts in Farin, but quickly moves to Darvil for the main point of focus.]
Kai woke up, feeling a bit better than he did the previous night. After Leaving the train station, he had managed to make his way back to his hovel, even managing to do so without alerting anypony that he was injured. Of course, once he was home, the only thing he wanted to do, and the only thing he managed, was to stumble into his bedroom, and collapse on his bed.
He examined his wounds again, pulling off the gauze wrap he had applied last night. He now had enough energy to patch himself up, albeit with a bit of scarring. He went ahead and did so, not wanting to have Geoff try to assist him with everything from brushing his teeth to rebuilding the coupler for his left wing. Besides, not being wrapped in gauze all day would make it easier to do what he needed.
No time for a full shower, he went through a hot water rinse, scrubbing only in the spots where he looked dirty. After that, a quick shake to remove most of the water, and a towel to remove the remainder. He checked the clock in his bedroom. It was still somewhat early, so he decided to pop open the photo album he kept under his bed, locked in a small box. Upon opening the box, he opened the second compartment, which, for some reason, contained only one picture, and a lock of Fluttershy's hair. Fluttershy wasn't even the main focus of the picture, it was Pinkie Pie.
Suddenly, he remembered what he had done with it. he placed the box back under the bed, making sure to take the picture and lock of hair with him. The last time he had been looking through it, he had been doing some laundry, and as a result, he had left it on the shelf in his closet, taking it back down, he flipped it open to the page where the picture had fallen out, and replaced it, making sure that this time, it was stuck tightly. He did the same with the trimmings from Fluttershy's mane, which still smelled of lavender and lilac.
Flipping the pages slowly, memories of the good times past welled up within him, bringing a tear to his eye. Breaking into Fluttershy's house to leave pastries the day before she left to help Twilight, That time the bandits had tried to take them hostage before Pinkie sent them into fits of uncontrollable laughter, and even the time Fluttershy had tackled him trying to keep him out of the path of a falling rock. However, while he was lost in these memories, time continued to pass, until it was time for him to start working.
He walked into the kitchen, Finding that the dishes had been put away from last night's dinner. He smiled, knowing that if on any normal day, he had crashed like he had last night, he would have to do the dishes the following morning. It was good to know that Geoff would do this, assuming that it was Geoff. For all he knew, Usu had done it, in an attempt to calm him down. After all, Usu never helped clean up before, so why start now?
That's when Kai remembered something: Geoff hadn't reported anything since he had been here. Granted, it was only one day, and Kai didn't find anything these past two days, either. He decided the best course of action would be to cut Geoff some slack, and let him grow accustomed to the place, first. So, he grabbed a banana, peeled it, and began eating, waiting for Geoff to enter the kitchen.
