[At Kiernan's insistance: On the 47th. All ponies are welcome. Well, Ember is, and Kail. If somebody else shows up we'll welcome them? Following the events of SHE BLINDED ME WITH SCIENCE! Which follows several other threads]
Geoff led the way to the Everfree Forest, trusting his gut instinct that something important must be there. And if not, at least there was bound to be fun happenings in the woods. Nature was always enjoyable. And flammable. Geoff chuckled at the thought. Of course he knew that live nature didn't burn well, but that was beside the point.
The bright midmorning, almost lunchtime sun filtered down nicely through the branches creating a warm atmosphere, nice and cozy. Geoff called back towards Ember, whom he presumed was following him. "Everything coming along all right?"

Ember had been fazing out again, she jumped slightly hearing the professor's voice. "Yeah I'm fine!" She called back as she quickened her pace to catch up with him. She honestly was restraining herself to stop from burning something. Her hooves itched and she cursed under her breath, how cruel it was that she had to receive this power! Suddenly a screech was heard as firebird landed on her shoulder. "Pest." She muttered. But the firebird simply rubbed against her cheek.

[Continued from An Audience With The Queen: eventidemlprpg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=elderforest&action=display&thread=128&page=3You have my permission to burn Kail if you need to set something on fire. She's already in pretty bad shape.] From the air it was easy to see the town in the distance, and Kail headed that way, listening for Whisp in the trees below. If the young unicorn screamed Kail hoped she would be able to hear it, but no screams traveled to her ears. The peg was feeling stronger the farther she flew from the castle, but the dark veil of the Rift sent pain and nausea shooting through her stomach again as she passed over the Everfree forest. The dark tendrils that were still coursing through her recognized the evil in the forest, and Kail wobbled on the wind, desperate to make it to the other side of the veil. She did, barely. Kail crashed through the trees on the edge of the forest and tumbled head over hooves, coming to a painful stop that left her reeling. She lay where she landed for a long moment, trying to catch her breath and overcome with immense relief that she'd managed to get away, even if Knight Shade hadn't.

[I'm sorry I haven't replied yet, I've been really busy. And trying to catch up on Kail's backstory. At least I didn't dwelve into the co3 boards. You'd probably never see me again.]
Geoff, oblivious as always, failed to notice Ember's smoldering rage behind him as he foraged blindly into the forest, not sure what he was looking for, but definitely looking for something. The air was pregnant with some sort of tension or turmoil, and he was determined to find the root of it.
Hearing Ember affirm her well being and the quickening of her pace to catch up with him, Geoff smiled. He loved nature, and to be quite honest, had spent much too much time with men lately. Even if most of the women he did spend time with turned out to be crazy. But Ember seemed fine so far. And so he trodded on diligently into the forest.
And then Geoff jumped a foot in the air. A loud crash and several snapping of twigs popped nearby. Quickly pinpointing the location, he motioned to Ember to help him investigate. If some pony was hurt, it would be incredibly fortunate that he was out here looking for something because he might be the only pony here for who knows how long.
"Hello?" He called apprehensively. He was well aware that whoever was out in the Everfree Forest and could need help was probably here for no better reasons than Geoff was. Hopefully whoever it was was friendly, or at least too incapacitated to do any damage. He doubted him or Ember would be much help in an engagement of fisticuffs.

A large boom was heard, something had obviously fell, it made the unicorn jump. She looked around anxiously looking for whatever made the startling noise, then some thing caught Ember's eye, feathers? She apprehensively followed the trail, until she came across a Pegasus. Obviously she'd been through quite an ordeal. "Over here Geoff!"she shouted out. "It's Pegasus, pretty banged up from what I can tell."

Kail waited until she was breathing normally again and the dark tendrils had stopped burning through her veins. They were still there, coiling and uncoiling in her stomach with the nearness of the dark veil, but they no longer pulsed fire through her.
“Hello?”
Kail froze. There was someone nearby. Two someone’s, she realized, as a younger voice belonging to a mare called to the older stallion to say she’d found Kail. What if Eclipse had sent them to find her?
Slowly the green pegasus pushed herself up on wobbly legs and faced them. The stallion looked so much like her father that Kail almost stumbled to him, but the mare looked like she was on fire. Kail rubbed her lavender eyes to clear her vision and the fire became hair, and the stallion became not at all her father.
“Who are you?” She said, ears flatted against her head and neck lowered in a defensive posture. She lifted her wings so she could fly at a moment’s notice and sea green feathers floated to the leaf covered ground.

Ember's ears flattened as well. "Ember....my name is Ember, and this is Geoff." We are just investigating what in the hay has been going on." She explained shakily at first but her voice gained strength and calmness. The sea green mare still kept a defensive stance. "I promise, we are not here to hurt you. Now why don't you tell us what you are doing here." Ember stated gently.

Geoff rushed over towards Ember and the skyfallen pegasus. "Are you all right?" He asked, probably a bit too loud. He got loud when he got excited. He tried to approach the pegasus but then backed off seeing her tense up and retreat.
"No worries!" He said, holding up his hooves. "We just heard you fall and wanted to make sure you were ok."

They certainly didn't act like somepony she'd expect to if they came from Eclipse, but then again, neither had Knight Shade. Kail eyed them warily as she lowered her wings a bit. "I'm Kail," she said, not willing to give her full name. "I'm fine." She ruffled her wings and watched as feathers fell to the ground. "I'll be fine. I need..." She wasn't sure if she could trust them. The roiling in her stomach could be from the dark veil, or it could be from the ponies before her, there was no way to be sure until she got away from the veil and Eclipse's effect on her. "I need the new Green Champion." There was nothing else Kail could think of to rid herself of the darkness. She needed the Rainbow of Light. And the new Green Champion - whoever that might be - was her best bet. The Green Stripe would recognize her. [Feel free to not know what the heck she's talking about ]

Ember narrowed her eyes. "Right, you're fine even though your feathers are falling out." She said sarcastically. Then the Pegasus began rambling on about some green champion. "What the hay are you getting on about?" The unicorn questioned. Kail seemed terribly worried about something. Ember looked her over again carefully. "Seriously are you okay? I could try some healing magic if you want." She fretted.

Geoff raised his eyebrows in confusion. She must've hit her head... or something. At the very least he had no idea what Green Champion she was referring to. Geoff stepped back and started to think. Whoever this pony was, she was running from something... or someone. And she looked innocent enough, which would make the Green Champion a good guy. Or not. Geoff had no idea what he was doing. At least Ember had some healing magic she could use.

Neither of these ponies knew who the new Green Champion was? They looked at her as if she was crazy, but there must be a new Green Champion. How would the Rainbow defeat Eclipse without its Champions to fight for it?
The grey pony...Ember, if Kail remembered correctly...was still fretting over her, and Kail looked at her torn wings. With the darkness spiraling through her the Healing Stone was going to take it's sweet time. And if Ember was a healer then Kail trusted her. She couldn't imagine a healer fighting for the wrong side.
"I apologize," Kail said. "I usually heal myself, but I fear I won't be able to until I find the new Green Champion. If you'd like to try I'd appreciate it."
Maybe Ember could destroy the darkness inside her too, although Kail doubted it. That would be a job for the Rainbow of Light.

Ember shuffled her hooves, she knew one spell for healing....but she wasn't sure how these two would react...then looking back at Kai, with a determined gaze, her eyes and horn began to glow, as fire formed at her hooves. Then the fire enveloped Kai, who let out a scream. Then the screams stopped as Kai realized there was no pain. Ember then closed her eyes, all of the fire left the sea green Pegasus revealing that she was perfected healthy, even rejuvenated. Ember slowly opened her eyes as if she was tired suddenly, and dipped her head silently.

[Deleted the last two comments since Ember and I already discussed it over PM]
The young mare looked nervous, and Kail wondered how often she used her healing power, and what form it would come in. When fire began growing at Ember's hooves it was Kail that became nervous, and when it engulfed her she screamed - more out of surprise than anything else.
There was no pain. Kail shut her mouth and swallowed hard as she realized there was no pain. Not from the fire, not from her wings, not from Eclipse's darkness. The darkness was still there, seething inside her, making her vaguely nauseous, but it no longer burned through her veins. Ember's fire had burned it away.
Kail had never experienced anything like that before. "Wow," she breathed and held out her wings, inspecting them. Feathers no longer rained down. Kail was still cold from the loss of her stripe, but she felt healthy again for the first time since Ratskull attacked her on the pirate ship.
"Thank you," Kail said as Ember bowed her head. "I...thank you." Perhaps not every pony in the future was as evil as Eclipse would have her think.

"You're welcome." She replied quietly. Shyness was beginning to creep back into Ember, but she straightened herself out and nodded at Kail "It was no problem." Her gaze then switched to Geoff, "We'd better explore deeper into this forest before it gets dark." She said quickly
