It took Kai quite some time to find his 'friends' after he split from them. It was strange. These ponies, he enjoyed. That was a rare occurance for him. And always, either they would despise him, or they'd betray him. He was wary, but optimistic. As long as he didn't screw anything up this time...
He found them by a stall selling exotic fishing bait. Tundra liked to catch large ones and hypnotize them to pull things from lakebeds and rivers. When fishing with him, it would be expected to find trash on the bank, despite the fact that the lake was cleaner afterward.
He decided to stand next to Sil, smiling to hide his thoughts. "Hey. What'd I miss?"

At Tyr's reaction, small as it was, Luna took pity. She knew others would be coming through the Rift from Kail's time, but the pegasus never told her who the other ponies were. The only odd thing was that he didn't appear to be so confused about himself being two thousand years in the future, only Kail. Luna mentally shrugged - perhaps for some ponies it was easier to think of the Rift in terms of the others who had come through, and not worry about what it meant for themselves.
"Truly, that is the date. A Rift has been opened in time, and certain ponies pulled through. Kailani was one of them." She didn't bother to mention that he must be another. Let him come to that on his own terms. "If you are a friend of hers, you are welcome to visit her with me, after the ceremony."
(Sorry about my long absence - I was training noobs at work last week, and I had no time/brain for RPing)

Tyr's eyes nearly crossed. "A time rift? Who in the name of the Immortals is capable of opening time rifts around here?" Well, that was certainly enough of an oddity to waken him.
Time rifts! The orderly god part of him shuddered at the mere idea. He'd run across them before--Aedeminar used to open them just to vex him, actually. But even she was smart enough to only open them to relatively innocuous times like 'two weeks from now'. Could it be...? No. No, that was a foolish hope.
"I am not sure you would call us friends, although we are certainly not enemies. I would be interested in speaking with her regardless." His expression remained neutral, despite a quiet inner battle he was fighting about whether or not he should admit to himself why that was the case.
Tyr turned his attention towards other questions that bubbled forth, and settled on the most important one rather than pepper the Princess with all of them. "Are there plans in place for closing the rift? I'd hate to think of the knots that could get tied in time if it's left open."

Who in the name of the Immortals? That was a strange thing to say, especially for a pony from the Era of the Rainbows. Even Luna didn't remember the Era of the Old Gods - she was too young at the time, and she was in hiding with her sister after their mother's death.
"The Rift was a group effort," she said, then thought it appropriate to add: "and an accident. There is no one pony capable of doing such a thing on their own, nor is there one pony capable of closing it on their own."
Are there plans in place for closing the rift?
"We are looking into it, of course. There are several ponies who must be returned to their own time and place, including Kailani." Luna debated the merit of telling the stallion anything beyond the fact that a rift had been opened, but if he knew Kail he would no doubt be fighting alongside them when the time came to banish Eclipse once again.
"There is an unwholesome creature that came through as well. She will need to be dealt with first."
Nevermind that it was actually Luna's actions that let Eclipse out of the Opaque, not Twilight's Rift. All of this was Luna's fault, but admitting that to herself was worse than admitting it to a stranger.

Tyr's ears pressed back against his skull. "No wonder I woke up. Well, so be it--perhaps I know something that will be of help. I'm not the mage I used to be, but I might have some moldering bit of information rattling around my head that could be of some use." He absently caressed the hilt of his sword. "And if there is someone to fight, I can definitely assist."
His power may wane steadily over the years with no one's belief to bolster it, but his martial prowess was his alone, at least.
"I will bother you not further. Just...point me in some direction where I may do something constructive." Tyr sighed heavily. It was never fun to be starting over, no matter how many times he'd done it in the past.

Lily Lightly's face still wore signs of her hearty cry earlier, though she seemed completely unaware and unashamed of the fact. Now she was looking all around with wide-eyed wonder, remembering what the strings of lights had meant to everyone back home. Needless to say she did not feel cheery enough to shine along with them.
Everypony at the Tower had been so very nice to the unicorn, and of course she was bent on participating in whatever party they had all prepared. It clearly wasn't the same as it had been in Unicorna. There was a lot more ponies gathered then she had ever seen before, and she had not dared to leave Fennec's side.
However, as she passed Pinkie's festive table filled with pastries and sweets she lost the stallion without realising it and followed the grumble of her stomach. Thankfully the banquet was wholly free, because Lily's mind was fully immersed in the concept of sharing - and her face was soon fully immersed in a scrumptious cherry pie.

[Oh, HI everyone. Sorry I've been gone for absolutely no reason at all. I'll be sporadic for the rest of the month, but I should be back on regularly in January. The mermaids took over my brain this year.]
Luna wasn't sure where she could direct Tyr at the moment. They didn't know exactly where Eclipse was hiding, although Kailani was sure to be able to help with that information, and they didn't exactly need a sword-wielding stallion to protect the party. "For now you can enjoy the celebration. We'll find you a room in the Tower after."
Fennec had lost Lily somewhere shortly after arriving at the celebration, and it was no wonder. He'd never seen so many ponies in one place in his life. He gaped at the multicolored lights on their strings and the tables with more food than any harvest celebration he'd ever been to. He turned a circle, trying to find his companion amidst the colors, before he spotted the Princess who had brought him to the Tower earlier that night and the stallion who was with her. Finally, someone who looked as out-of-place as he did.
He trotted over and nodded to them both.
[Guh. Sorry. Hy's somewhere around here too, probably with Kai's friends]

"Enjoy...the celebration," Tyr said slowly, as if he'd forgotten how to do any such thing. "I could...perhaps do that." But could he do it while sober? That was a good question, but being newly awakened wasn't the time to go get drunk. It also wouldn't really give the best impression.
He should maybe go seek out Kail. That would be productive.
...except that idea was actually less appealing than mingling at a gathering in which he knew no one.
He nodded absently at Fennec, caught up in his own thoughts, such as they were.
