Name: Twilight Sparkle
Age: About 17
Type: Unicorn pony
Symbol: A red six-pointed star, backed by a white one, with five white ‘sparkles’ surrounding it, representing her talent for magic.
Appearance: Twilight is a lavender-coloured unicorn with purple eyes. She also possesses a purple mane which (usually) looks rather delicately brushed, and has a single stripe of red running through it.
Abilities/Powers/Special talent: Unlike most unicorns, Twilight’s special talent is magic itself. Proclaimed (by Spike, although she’d never claim the title for herself) to be the ‘most magical pony in all Equestria’, Twilight does have more magical skill than even your average unicorn.
Personality: While somewhat more outgoing since Nightmare Moon’s defeat, Twilight is still not the most sociable girl you could ever meet in Equestria. A very studious pony, Twilight can seem rather know-it-all at times, and is usually organised and rational – the latter being both her biggest strength and her biggest weakness, as she has a tendency not to believe in anything that she can’t prove, which has led her to injury on more than one occasion. Twilight has a rather distinct paranoia when it comes to failure, leading her to imagine the worst possible punishments whenever she feels she’s on the verge of disappointing her mentor, Princess Celestia, and often causing her to lose her sense of reason when the situation becomes too bad.
Items/Accessories/Companions: Not unusual to see Twilight with a quill and a scroll, although in the end it’s usually Spike who does most of her writing for her. As for companions, not counting Spike who’s a character in his own right, she also has a pet owl named Owloysius.
Birthplace/home world: Canterlot, Equestria (G4)
History: Born in Canterlot, Twilight Sparkle devoted herself to studying magic from a very early age, ever since she saw Princess Celestia raise the sun at her first ever Summer Sun Celebration. Not long after, much to the young filly’s delight, her parents chose to enrol her in Princess Celestia’s school for gifted unicorns, although she had to pass an entrance exam first. And, in fact, almost didn’t pass, except for the fact that Rainbow Dash’s first Sonic Rainboom startled her into awakening her not unremarkable raw magical talent, which burst out of her uncontrolled, wreaking havoc until the Princess herself brought Twilight’s powers under control, and offered to take the young unicorn as her own personal protégé. Twilight, of course, agreed, and received her Cutie Mark as a result of the encounter, too.
It was some years later when, after discovering the prophecy of Nightmare Moon’s imminent return, Twilight’s life took a change in direction as she was sent to Ponyville to oversee the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration – and under orders to make some friends, too, although the unicorn was loath to attempt the latter. As it turned out, however, Twilight found herself bonding with a group of ponies her own age when the six of them teamed up to master the Elements of Harmony and defeat Nightmare Moon. Following which, Twilight was reluctant to return to Canterlot and leave her new friends, so the Princess assigned her to Ponyville to continue studying the magic of friendship instead. Over time, Twilight and her friends were called upon again to use the elements of harmony to defeat Discord, and while they were almost divided for good, eventually managed to prevail.

Name: Online I typically go by ‘Angel’, so will answer to that name here
Roleplaying experience: Been roleplaying for about a year and a half now, mostly on DWoW and other Disney-based sites, and have been told by a quite few people that I’ve become an able roleplayer in that time. I’ve also had some experience playing Twilight herself, most notably on Hell on Earth.

Books went flying in every possible direction as the purple unicorn frantically scanned her library’s shelves. Spike was away for once, with Pinkie being the only other pony present, and it showed by the displaced pile of books building up around the unicorn. Pinkie had come to Twilight seeking advice because something strange seemed to be going wrong with her cupcakes, and some of her potentially misplaced urgency on the matter had passed on to Twilight. Teen pony was sure she had a book on baking somewhere in here, but for the life of her, she couldn’t-
“Found it!” the pink pony suddenly bounced across Twilight’s field of vision, taking the unicorn by surprise, and she stumbled backwards into her pile of discarded books with a muffled thump. Shaking her head and looking rather regretfully at the mess of pages she’d just landed in the middle of, Twilight slowly turned her face towards Pinkie.
“How did you…?”
“It was under ‘C’!” her friend replied happily, leaving Twilight to wonder why she never thought to look for books in their alphabetical placement.
