Felt like discussing something fun, maybe get to know y'all a little better.
I don't consider myself an otaku. Actually I'm pretty sure that's supposed to a degrading term, but I'm using it here to substitute for the word cartoon-nerd. Anyway - I'm pretty sure all of us have watched My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. So what other cartoons do you enjoy? Do you have any shonen-animé to recommend now that it looks like D.Gray-man won't return?

Ugh, I should check the OOC board more often, rather than just once every other week...
As Lue would confirm (assuming he get's back on here, Likely not going to happen until he decides where he wants to go to gather information), I used to be a huge fan of Ginga. Not the Manga series, I couldn't get my hands on that, but the Anime, I watched that for several months.
Ginga is actually a word I use to combine all of the Anime and Manga. The Anime was actually divided up into Ginga Nagareboshi Gin, And Ginga Densetsu Weed. That's actually when I started to understand Japanese, in the slightest, and from where my nickname, Gin stems from. You see, Gin means Silver, and as my last name is Silvercoat, I simply adopted the name, and voila. To explain the rest of the names, Ginga translates into Silver-Fang, Nagareboshi to Meteor, and Densetsu to Legend. There's actually a video I made that translates the long version of the opening theme of Ginga Densetsu Weed into English, though it's cracked to fit the flow of the song.
Just a warning, I can't sing to save my life. You have been warned.
Also, that's not me in the video, that's a friend of mine who was so ecstatic that I had a YouTube channel, he wanted me to put him in a video, and, well, I don't make that many videos anymore, but I'll pick it back up in March, mayhap, for another channel (name pending. We don't even have any ideas yet).

Well, I wouldn't consider myself an otaku either, but fairly well versed in a variety of animes. Fortunately for my anime knowledge, I dated a girl who was obsessed with anime for 15 months, and in the course of that time watched far too much anime than I usually did. I just started my first series after breaking up with her recently, she kind of burned me out on it. But currently I'm watching Darker Than Black, as suggested by my old youth group leader. And it's a very good suggestion.
Favorites of mine would probably be Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Ranma 1/2, Baccano, and Elfen Lied for good measure. At least those ones had some of the best music.
If you ever need suggestions though, I've got a few. Or more than a few.

Forgive me for getting back to this so late. I've meant to view your video Kiernan, but I've been crazy busy during the holidays and when I finally took some time off I came down with a terrible cold.
I gotta say, it's amazingly brave of you to post this video clip. I have some clips of myself singing, and even if they are decent I am not a singer and I would never dare share them. Fanatic passion can be so inspiring, haha. I never knew how to read musical notes yet I learned by trial and error to play the Song of Storms (Legend of Zelda) by heart.
As I said, I haven't watched much animé. It started with Sailor Moon/Pokémon/Digimon in my childhood I suppose. I later read Death Note but can for some reason not bring myself to watch the entire animé version of it. My boyfriend and I used to watch Naruto the weekends that he spent home from military service, and we still do - kind of. Quality is rapidly dropping in Shipuuden, as sad as it is to admit.
Now a days, since Bleach came to a halt, my boy is watching One Piece (which looks interesting enough, but I can't keep up with his watching), and I still grief the loss of my favourite series D. Gray-Man. Might give Ginga and Cowboy Beebop a shot - I've heard a lot of good things about those.
