On Eventide the main focus lies on the fourth generation (G4) of My Little Pony, as its setting is the imaginary city of Whinnyapolis is located in their world called Equestria.
Also playable are characters from generations G1, G2, and G3, as well as OCs (original characters).
The G1/G2/G3 generations have travelled through time and space to the G4 universe, but where they actually came from is not known by our characters until it is revealed in-game. For now, they are simply lost.
Note: On this board, a typical G1/G2/G3 pony is no bigger than a G4 pony. They are of different races, times, and location, but do not differ as much physically like the toys do. Some G1’s, like the Flutter ponies and the Summer/Windy Wings are considerably smaller, but generations still resemble each other.
G1: Characters that came from the rift may have their hometown from any location mentioned in the old TV-Series – Dream Valley, Flutter Valley, etc. G1 ponies have due to The Rift travelled to Equestria from the past through time, something you might want to keep in mind.
The ponies’ cutie marks are called symbols and are formed when they are toddlers, often connected to their favourite things and hobbies.
You may play as any of the ponies, but also claimable are the bushwoolies and baby dragons, along with the animal friends. You may however not play as a human or human like character.
The G1 ponies are from a time over 3000 years ago, and familiar with the world ruled by their unseen goddess Gaia who would later become the mother of three celestial fillies. Their untamed world hold small settlements of ponies and wild beasts are quite common. They are sweet but may appear suspicious and headstrong as they are familiar with danger.
Characters from the MLP Tales TV-series are not allowed on Eventide.
G2: From the Friendship Gardens and through The Dark Veil entered a gentle and graceful breed of ponies. The G2 characters come from another place, co-existent in the same universe Equestria, but located on another planet. The planets can be seen as stars from each other, but races were completely unaware of each other before The Rift due to the inability of travelling through space.
A part of the G2 lore is that ponies are born with their cutie marks (they call them simply ‘marks’), a predicament of their destiny, and a pathway in their lives.
Earthlings, Unicorns, and Pegasi live in gardens that form small societies with a huge respect for nature.
Winged Unicorns are highlanders and tribes mainly stick to their own kind.
G3: The third generation of ponies come from a parallel universe, a bright, colourful and somewhat naïve setting that involves the town of Ponyville, Butterfly Island, and Unicornia. The different species of ponies are compatible but for the most part ununited. This fun loving and peaceful race never pose threats towards their kin, thus they might have difficulties in adapting to their new surroundings. Some of them are basically too silly or too close minded to understand what is going on in Equestria, while more intelligent individuals might be left devastated dealing with a world that so contrasts their happy-go-lucky safe haven.
In the G3 universe, Discord for reasons unknown never overtook Dream Valley. The land developed in peace, and how the relationship between the three goddesses are, nobody knows. Are there even any old deities left in this land?
The nature of the G3 pony makes for characters suitable for both beginners who do not know how to go about their character as well as for advanced players that really wants to mess with their character’s head.
C03: Ponies that came from the world of Celebrate! 2003 MLP RPG belongs in the time that on Eventide is known as the very same that the G1 ponies came from. Ponyville had formed at this time, but was a rather small town outside of Dream Valley.
Anyone who had a character on C03 may bring it on here. Many C03 character were from G3, and should such a character come on Eventide it will still be considered a G1 rift pony, even if listed as a G3.
(Don't worry - most C03 ponies were OCs!)
