Geoff had rolled a twelve. the only way that Turnkey wouldn't be going first is if he also rolled a twelve. He picked up the dice with his hoof, and tossed them onto the table. He had never worked with loaded dice, but he had other ways... The trajectory on his throw, for example. Working all the time with a lockpick in one hoof and a tension wrench in the other, his hooves were as steady as they came, and always under his control.
"Snake eyes," he said, a nice big grin on his face. "Since you rolled the highest, I go first, since I'm to your left." He tossed the dice again, knowing that it would be a five before they even touched the table. sure enough, he was situated on the Ponyville Train Depot, one property more prosperous, and two hundred bits out. "Your move, but don't forget to select a piece for yourself."

Geoff grimaced as he realized he probably should've paid better attention to the house rules. Then he shrugged. It was just a game after all. His eyes hardened. A game he didn't intend to lose.
He picked up the dice and once again rolled a 12. "I'll be the boot." He announced simply. He decided to forego purchasing the property however. He had grander plans for his bits

Usu tried his best to hold in a smile. Apparently, Geoff hadn't played doubles before. He decided it best to hold off on explaining that little tidbit of information, until it would suit his needs better. He picked up the dice, and tossed them his way, yielding a four and a six. Apploosa Station. He bought it. Railroads were his favorite property.

[This is going to be impossible to keep track of in my mind...]
Geoff pursed his lips. Turnkey buying up all of the train tracks would not prove beneficial this early in the game. But then again, Geoff liked to play all or nothing. So he rolled an 11. It probably wouldn't look too good to roll all 12's. Even if an 11 was just as improbable.

[don't worry about it too much. If I wasn't just doing this to stall for time while I come up with some excuse for how Tundra/Tiaga and Frostbite/ to realize that they're stuck, this could reach page four hundred before the game ends, and I don't have that kind of patience. We'll just circle the board a few times, swap properties and bits, mayhap accuse each other of cheating, and everything will be all right. Until then, I'm just going to keep stalling. But to keep confusion down, Geoff has no properties, and $1,500, and Usu has $1,120, and the first two railroads] Something was up. Geoff had landed on Ghastly Gorge, one of the higher valued properties, and he hadn't bought it. Furthermore, he hadn't bought the utility he had landed on last turn, Apple Harvest. This was an unfamiliar strategy for Usu, , until he looked at where another high-value roll would land Geoff on the final railroad, blocking off his chance of claiming all four. It was time to utilize the doubles rule. Usu tossed the dice, hitting two fives, exactly what he needed. He jumped to Dodge Junction station, and picked it up. Then he tossed the dice a second time, nailing another two fives, Bringing him to the final train station in Canterlot, which gave him all railroad squares. Now, according to the rule of doubles, he knew that if he rolled doubles a third time, he was to be banished directly to the Moon. But he had other plans. He rolled a five, landing him on GO, which, according to house rules, would net him four hundred bits, rather than the usual two hundred. In one turn, he had picked up two properties, had been reimbursed in full for both, and was sporting the entire public transit system. "That's why they call me the Monopony guy," he said with a huge smile on his face, even going so far as to let his tongue hang out loosely over his chin. For the time being, he was safe.

"Hu-wha?" Geoff stuttered at the end of Turnkey's turn. "Doubles? Wait, so what is the doubles rule for double 6's?" Geoff pressed Turnkey, having felt cheated. He continued to mumble to himself. "Don't let them play house rules next time grumble grumble."
Realizing that at least double fives let you go again, Geoff rolled just that. And then he rolled a 2 and 4 for a total of 6. Second most common number to roll. Of course each of them were doing entirely too well for a first turn but...
"Huzzah!" Geoff gave a cry of delight. At least he got Canterlot Palace, the most expensive area on the board. And then he put 3 houses on it. He was a put all of your eggs in one basket kind of pony.

"Rolling doubles allows you to roll again, up until your third set in a turn," said Usu in response to Geoff's question. When he had landed on Community Chest, and not picked up his card, Usu picked it up and read it himself. After all, there was a good chance that he could make 50 bits off of Geoff. Instead, it was the 'Sold a cherry to Fluttershy' card, so Geoff made a good twenty-five bits. Either way, it was now Usu's turn.
"Snake eyes," he said, as he landed on another Community Chest square. He looked at his card, and smiled at his new 'released from the moon early' card, which took its place right next to his properties. Another roll yielded double fives, and the Apple harvest Geoff had passed up. Usu wouldn't be so quick about that... He purchased the property. After all, it was cheap, and had a huge payout. Or at least, it would soon...his next roll was a three and a five, which landed him on Free Parking, netting him a quick fifty bits.
"Your move, boot."

Geoff snatched up the dice and carefully rolled a 4. He made sure not to forget to pick up the 400 bits that Turnkey had promised and forgotten for passing go. Or something like that. And then he purchased the property, and then he rolled snake eyes and got the next property. "Funny how often snake eyes have come up..." Geoff muttered.
Geoff took a moment to stretch and considered thinking about the dice again, and then just tossed them haphazardly. A 12. Geoff looked at Turnkey untrustingly. He hadn't seen any magic from his horn, but then again, he hadn't been looking very carefully either. And how much could you trust someone who made and picked locks for a living. "So what's the penalty?" Geoff asked after moving his boot 12 spaces.
[Also, I don't think you ever said what your piece was.]

[well, since you don't know, I'll let you in on what you just did. Geoff purchased the second most worthless property on the board (which I can't remember the name of, and am too lazy to look up), Landed on a railroad (which since Usu owns all of them, that's 200 bits you owe), and then accidentally rolled a twelve. And I said my piece was the unicorn (made up my own monopoly piece just for this occasion)] Usutora smiled. Geoff had just rolled double twos, double ones, and now, double sixes. Three rolls in a row were doubles. "The penalty for rolling doubles three times is to be banished directly to the moon." He took the liberty of pushing Geoff's piece the remaining five spaces to the moon. "And you owe me two hundred bits for landing on Ponyville Station." He picked up the dice and rolled an eight via three and five. The Weather Factory. The last utility property. He picked it up using the money he had just picked up off of Geoff. Then he pushed the dice over to his incarcerated competitor. "You gonna try for a breakout, or are you just going to pay your bail?" [Actually, I decided I'm not going to be so lazy. If the image doesn't work, for whatever reason (because for some reason this board doesn't like my pictures unless I jump through hoops, and this one won't even let me jump through hoops), th09.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/i/2012/213/a/b/monopony___a_my_little_pony_themed_monopoly_board_by_sup3rgh0st-d59b8b2.pngHere'es the link.]

[Wow. I need to write posts more often when I can actually do math. Because I was just going by numbers in my head. I knew, hey look canterlot was a good guess for the Broadway of monopony, was 39 on the board. And the board is 40 spaces long. But really.
Now that we both have the same board we're working off of we can probably do this a little better. Or something.]
Geoff grumbled at his stupidity. You'd have thought he'd be good at simple math. But sometimes it's the easiest math that he screwed up the most. "Pay bail?" He questioned Turnkey. But then he realized paying bail was redundant. And he rolled a pair of double 3's. To spice it up. Rolling again he rolled a 6 and 4. He happily snatched up the bits and then furrowed his brow. He was at a severe disadvantage currently.

Usutora shrugged. He had previously suspected Geoff of cheating, but landing himself in prison after having to pay him for landing on a railroad, those suspicions had faded. Of course, yelling out that his opponent was cheating would cause Geoff to watch the board more carefully, and that could possibly draw attention to the fact that Usu was cheating. Which he was, he just didn't want Geoff to know that.
He picked up the dice, and threw a nine, landing on Cloudsdale. If Geoff was taking over the most powerful property on the board, Usu was right behind him. For his new property, he upgraded his houses to a hotel, before hoofing the dice over to Geoff with a smile.

[How much money do I have anyways? Well if this is the end it doesn't matter. And your temps?]
Geoff frowned. He needed a new plan. And quickly. He took the dice and rolled them in his hoof thoughtfully thinking. Snake eyes, he decided with a squint of his eyes. He just hoped this chance would go well.
He grabbed the chance card and flipped it. "Outsell the flim flam brothers. Earn 50 bits. Not bad," he said nodding.
He rolled a 1 and bought carousel boutique, then rolled a 9, passing go and collecting 400 bits. Not a bad turn. This time he decided to watch Turnkey's horn. He was rather lucky... too lucky. Or he just lacked Geoff's sheer stupidity.

[By the way, it's impossible to roll a 1. Just sayin']
Usutora picked up the dice once more, and threw them a final time. When they landed a three, he smiled. That landed him on go, for another four hundred bits. "This is most enjoyable.," he started to say, but was interrupted by athe sound of the portal opening. He jumped to his hooves, spinning around to face the spot where the portal would open, prepared to defend himself. But instead of the creatures from before, it was Tundra and Frostbite that came through the opening.
"Why the buck are you late!?" shouted Frostbite, seething. "We've been waiting at the entrance for half an hour!"
"Calm yourself, Snowy," said Tundra, noticing that they had a guest. "The fact that I had to rerout the portal back to the hillside in the first place means he couldn't leave that way, and that's a good reason for being late."
Usutora smiled. It was his colleagues in crime, here to save him. "I was caught up in a dinner party, as you can see," he said, indicating the nachos, which were cold by now. "Kai left, and we had to stay inside until somepony outside would let us out."
"Well, it's about bloody time," said Frostbite, taking a hoofful of nachos and cramming them into his mouth. "Who's the guy?" he asked, through a mouthful of food. It didn't sound like it, but Usu knew what he meant.
"One of Kai's friends. We were playing Monopony. But now that you've come, it's time I bid you ado, Professor." He bowed to his accquaintance, before saying, "Game over. I win. We must do this again sometime."

Geoff huffed and harummed a bit. "Why, I dare so I've lost yet. I've done some calculations, and there was a far too high occurence of doubles that probability would provide. Not to mention doubles that were convenient. That's all the proof I have at this moment but..." he trailed off. "I demand a rematch at least. But I suppose sometime you're not..." he glanced disdainfully at the Turnkey's friend shoving his face, the one prone to foul language, "occupied." He finished tentatively.

"Yes, well, good night, professor," said Usutora once more. "Come along, Snowy."
"But we just got here," complained Frostbite with his mouth still stuffed full of Nachos, so he couldn't be coherent. "I'm going to stay here and eat."
"Of course you can give me a back rub when we get home, sweetie," joked Usutora, causing a snicker from Tundra. "But we have work to do now." Frostbite apparently didn't take the joke very well, considering that he sat down and folded his forelegs. "Weren't you waiting on me earlier? Now we're waiting on you. Let's go, Snowy."
Frostbite begrudgingly stood up and followed Usutora and Tundra out the door, shooting a final glance at Geoff before disappearing.
[Usutora and his lackeys are now out of the thread. Also, HOLY S**T this thread was long! Well, Geoff, enjoy the time you get to spend in my house, alone. With nopony watching what you're doing. Where if you clean up afterwards, nopony will ever know what you did.]
