Kail was used to strange ponies showing up on the doorstep of the Nursery, but never had she seen quite a...unique...crowd as this. The pony with the dragon wings reminded her of Lian, the "shadow god" from the last war. This one was missing Lian's antlers and jovial nature, but she'd keep her eye on him regardless.
She'd keep an eye on the one who seemed to be the owner of this mound of dirt too, if what he said about jail was true.
Nothing fazed Roo. He'd lived long enough and seen enough on his travels that a few strange wings and time in prison weren't enough to convince him the ponies before them were anything more than a bit strange. He shook Kai's hoof.
"Razzaroo Hoofspen the Fourth, pleasure to meet you. Please call me Roo."
Kail looked to Ember, but it seemed the unicorn was not in a greeting mood, so she held her sea-green hoof out. "Kailani Pone Hoofspen. Call me Kail."

"A pleasure to meet you, Razzaroo," smiled Kai, happily greeting the lavender unicorn. "I hope your company is as much fun as saying your name."
"Kailani Pone Hoofspen. Call me Kail."
Kai froze in the middle of shaking Kail's hoof. He wasn't quite sure if he had heard right. "Did you say Kailani Hoofspen?" He vigorously shook his head for a fraction of a second. "As in the Kailani Hoofspen?" His eyes grew wide as his mind tried to catch up with the information as he didn't realize his grip on her hoof was growing tighter. "As in Kailani Hoofspen, the Green Champion!?"
Suddenly realizing that he was coming off as a crazy pony, he released her hoof, and took a few steps back. "I'm... I'm sorry," he said quietly, turning his head away, and drawing his eyes to the ground. "I just..." he paused for a few moments, scolding himself in his head. When he finally did manage to lift his head, he looked back at Kail.
"Are you really the Green Champion?"

Everytime someone said Razzaroo's name it broke Kail's heart a little more. Roo was proof she'd make it home to Razz, but it didn't stop the pain of losing him now.
Her mind was still on Razz when Kai hoof grasped hers a little tighter in surprise and he shook his head. Everything in Kail screamed to run or fight - how could he know her name? Had Eclipse sent him to find her?
When he released her she backed into Roo, ears pinned flat against her head. Roo chuckled again. Leave it to a Razzarroo to find the hilarity in any situation.
He put his hoof on her shoulder and nodded to the light blue stallion. "She is indeed the Green Champion. I didn't think anypony in Equestria remembered the Champions."
Kail looked at him - remembered the Champions? Where had the Champions gone that they needed to be remembered? This future was less and less what she'd thought it would be.

She was the green champion. This was both a relief, and a bother. She was alive, and he could deliver the happy news to Luna and Whisp. But then, he would have to tell Luna that he had given her false information, which would lead to another few years on top of what he already had to serve after this 'Community Service' was done. Of course, he already had to serve extra time for breaking out of prisonafter the trial. He began, at this point, to wish he had a friend who was high on the chain of command other than Luna. Or rather, one that knew him.
He gave a slight smile. "I don't know much about the champions, I'm sad to say," sighed Kai. "And what I do know, I only learned recently. What saddens me is that all I know about the champions, is you."
He paused for a few moments, then his face grew bright again. "Won't you all come inside for some drinks and sandwiches?" On his own cue, he leaped through the portal, and into his living room, still a mess from earlier. He made a rushed attempt to clean everything up before anypony else stepped inside.

Ember followed Kai through the portal, fascinated by the house located two miles below the ground. Although her main thought was food and rest. Her stomach gave another small growl, as she looked around this little "safe haven" so to speak. Hopefully no one would recognize her, she was sure they wouldn't but there was no need for anymore drama. "Thank for allowing us to rest here Kai." She said sincerely but a note of weariness echoed in her words.

"Oh, it's no problem," said Kai, tossing the last of the diagrams into his bedroom and closing the door. Now the main area was clean, and as long as nopony went into his room, nopony would see the mess that had simply been pushed inside the door. He just had to remember, if he needed anything out of there, he would have to detour through the restroom.
He retreated into the kitchen, where he found Usu pulling dishes out of the cabinets. Already, the glasses were set out on the counter, and four platters were lined up in front of them.
"We're going to do the sandwiches first," he muttered, pulling a myriad of breads, cheeses, sauces, spreads, vegetables, grasses, and flowers from the bags he had placed on the marble earlier that morning, the cupboard next to the door, and the icebox.
"After that, we need to do the punch." He grabbed four knives from the block, and began to slice the bread, tomatoes, onions, and cheeses, separating them into their own stacks, as well as separating the lettuce leaves from their respective heads.
The kitchen inherited his aura for a few moments as the stacks all came to life and assembled themselves into four varieties of sandwich. Each variety got it's own tray, and one of them was quickly sent through a fire bath to toast the bread and heat up the sandwiches. "I need you to hold this place together until I return."
Kai left the kitchen levitating the four trays with food on them behind him. "Alright, who's hungry?"

Silent Storm quietly entered the familiar confines of Mister Akaitora's abode, trying not to attract too much attention despite his prominent greeting outside. This goal was mostly unattainable as a result of both his appearance, and the armor he'd worn. He didn't think there would be so many ponies here when Usu had invited him.
He observed each of the new ponies for a time, moving from one to another after a short period of time of scrutiny. They all seemed nice enough. Kai wouldn't invite just anypony into his house.
The pegasus took a seat in the living area, the armor clinking only slightly. He kept watching the ponies enter each at a time, and half-listened to some chatter about a "green champion." Sil had no idea what the hay they were talking about, but it was slightly interesting.
After a bit, Kai entered from the kitchen, bearing a mass of sandwiches arranged neatly on trays.
"Alright, who's hungry?"
Sil's stomach mumbled at him despite the munchies he'd had earlier. He raised a hoof into the air to get Kai's attention. "M-may I have o-one?" he asked, eyeing the morsels.

Ember watched with interest as Kai artfully crafted the wonderful sandwiches and began to place them on the table. "I most certainly am!" She said forcing a smile. Everything seemed calm and peaceful here. She felt safe in the underground building here with these ponies. Each of them were a little odd but for some reason that trait made her much more comfortable. Perhaps she should do her best to be social. Besides, it would do her no good if she was solitary and introverted while down here.
Although, the unicorn began to think to herself. Ember's head seemed to spin as she attempted to wrap her mind around all that had happened in a single day. Everything she had ever known seemed to been disproven in a single day. And what of this "Green Champion"? Plus being around so many ponies was quite rare for her, let alone talking to any of them. How could this much change in a single day. Even the idea of it seemed implausible and unlikely, and yet, here she was.

Kai certainly didn't seem like he was going to abduct Kail and whisk her off to Eclipse's castle, but Kail was still on edge. The only ponies of this group that she knew she could trust were Ember and Roo. As the lavender unicorn followed the group, Kail pulled him back from the portal.
"How do you know it's safe?" She whispered.
His eyes looked like they would laugh again, and she squeezed him harder. Instead of laughing, he only smiled.
"Because you wrote to me of Kai."
That made no sense to Kail. "I've never met him."
"Now you have." This time Roo did laugh, but he sobered quickly. "When you return to your own time you'll write me letters. Things I should know for your return. He was one of them."
Kail eyed the portal and finally heaved a sigh. She'd never used a portal before - the only ones she knew of were on the Fatum Isles and Butterfly Island, and only the mages were allowed to use the Fatum portals. She put one hoof through, then followed with her head, but all she felt was the heat and noise of the city fading away to cool humidity. It was nothing like winking with her brother-in-law, Dark, which is sort of what she'd expected. She much preferred this calm entry to Dark's jarring long-distance winking.
Still, she didn't like the thought of being trapped two miles underground with only one apparent exit. Roo bumped her flank as he trotted past her into the main room, and Kail grudgingly followed.
"I don't suppose you have a sink where I can clean up a little?" She was still covered with dirt and dead leaves from her crash in the forest.

[Phone again...]
Kai set down the trays on the table, allowing everypony to eat to their heart's content. Or at least totheir stomach's...
"I don't suppose you have a sink whdre I can clean up a little?"
"Yes, it's right..." Kai started towards his bedroom door, the shortest route to the lavatory, before remembering that the route was blocked by the cables, bars and joints he was using to make the new coupler earlier today. "This way." He began the opposite way, through the kitchen. As soon as the door was closed, he went back to the living room.
"I have a final errand to run. I'll be back shortly. If you need anything, bother Turnkey in the kitchen." And leave he did.
[Temporary absence of Kai while he goes to retrieve Whisp.]

Ember eyed her sandwich with delight and quickly devoured it, then she grabbed another one, this time taking more time to savour it's flavor. She was soon satisfied, and had perked up a bit although she still looked tired. With a yawn she looked at Aki, "Hey Turnkey? Do You have any place where a mare could rest for a bit?" She said rubbing her eyes sleepily.

The bathroom was the first bit of peace Kail had experienced since she was home in Dream Valley, and while she was normally a social pony she was going to stay in this bathroom for as long as she possibly could. She needed some time alone to process everything that had happened.
Kail washed her forelegs in the sink, then lifted the compass over her head and set it on the counter before washing her face and the second symbol on her chest. Her mane and tail were a mess of salt-encrusted knots from the shipwreck, but she wasn't about to step into a stranger's shower so she found a comb and began the long process of combing the knots out.
~~~~~
As Kai left Roo realized he had only officially met two of the ponies in the room - the other two were still unknown to him, although it was obvious they were friends of their host. He turned to them with a smile.
"Razzaroo Hoofspen the Fourth, at your service. Please feel free to call me Roo if the other is a mouthful."
He gave a little bow before turning his bright, curious smile on the one with dragon wings. "I must say, I've never met a dragon pony hybrid before, although I've read about them. Would you call yourself a Pragon? Or a Drony? The texts aren't clear on that count, but you must be some sort of god, for I've never heard of a Pragon Drony who wasn't."
Roo sat across from him and took a bite of sandwich while he waited for an answer.
"Oh, I-I'm not a g-god or anything," Silent Storm answered after swallowing his bit of tomato sandwich, "I'm just... w-well I'm just me, an unexpected r-result of an experiment gone wrong."
"As f-for what I'm called--" the peg gave a little wave with his hoof as if to say 'hello', "My n-name is Silent Storm, but y-you can call me Sil if you w-want. I've never heard of any k-kind of 'Pragon Drony', but somepony in Cloudsdale threw out 'Equus Draco' once w-when I was passing through the science b-bit of Cloudsdale academy."
Sil polished off his sandwich and reached for another, but thought again since he didn't want to be impolite with all the new ponies around. He pulled his dagger from its sheath and cut another tomato sandwich in half and took the larger of the two parts.
"It's n-nice to meet you, R-Razzaroo" he said and extended the hoof not holding the half-sandwich. "Your name is f-fun to say." he added with the hint of a smile.
"A bed? Right this way."
Turnkey began across the living area, and stopped at the decent-sized sliding stone door that lead into Kai's bedroom. "I'm certain Kai won't mind if you crash on his bed for a few hours. He lets me do it all the time, and I'm not exactly on his good side." He turned back to his follower, giving a small smirk. "Just don't go snooping around. He kinda has a bad history."
Usu slid the door open, allowing Kai's morning project to fall out, clocking the light brown unicorn. Rubbing his head, he picked up the bronze plated wing, and pushed it back through the door, sliding it closed again. "Or mayhap you should take Geoff's bed. It's safer. You don't mind, do you, Geoff?" he asked, turning to the navy earth pony.
