After numerous amounts of concern over his health from the two, Silent Storm's coughing came to an anticlimactic end as he simply ceased the loud ruckus. After a few heavy gasps, the pegasus returned to his normal state of being.
It was around this time when he realized he had two equines staring at him worriedly. He suspected one was more concerned about the un-toasted state of the house rather than the choking. Last time he'd sneezed in the house, a particular house guest had been blown through a door and Sil was launched into a wall. Needless to say, a bit of a mess was caused.
"I'm f-fine," Silent Storm said, "Just got a l-little punch caught d-down the windpipe."

As far as Whisp was concerned, it barely mattered - Hy's place or Kai's. Accommodations were made, which was good enough, but if the two unicorns hadn't been there for her the youth didn't know where she'd be at. Probably wandering the streets still. She could care less.
She mustered up what mental strength she had left. She really didn't want to do this, after all. As she grabbed Kai's hoof she once again became painfully aware that she wasn't supposed to be there. She was supposed to be dead, to have died a thousand years in the past. The thought made her sick. She had to focus on something else, even if she felt her own hoof resting almost ghostly in Kai's.
Still, a touch felt just the same as it had a millennia ago.

"That's te spirit," Smiled Kai, as he helped her up and lead her to the face of the cliff. He jerked his neck sideways, motioning for Hy to follow them. "We'll have concluded our business here before you know it."
As he was the only one in this group with any idea of what to do next, He stepped partially through the portal. He slowly stepped through it,trying to make it clear that entry was perfectly safe. He didn't want to rush her, either. He needed her to do what he had brought her here to do quickly, but not so quickly that it caused any more damage. She'd bee through enough already.
When he had finally pulled his head through, breaking eye contact, he looked around. Kail was nowhere to be seen. "Is Kail still in the bathroom?"
"Yeah," said Usu, moving away from the table.
"Good. Everyone, No questions, don't mention Kail's name to either of the new guests, I need them to find out on their own. Understood?" Still gripping Whisp's hoof, he gradually began to lead her into the portal.
[and I'm serious about not mentioning her name. Or profession. Though I suspect there's not much to worry about.]

Stomach being as it was, Whispering Wind couldn't quite keep it from turning in chock as Kai, albeit gently, walked towards the cliffside and his hooves disappeared into it. Whisp had to assume that there was an opening that she couldn't see in the fading light.
She discovered upon approaching that she had been right from the beginning. It was a portal, not much different than the ones that had taken her to the Fatumn Isle and Butterly Island. She tailed the stallion through, wondering where it would lead and if her hooves were still actually in Whinnyapolis.
Whisp made it to the other side and pinned her ears back. She met far more faces on the other side than she had been prepared for.

So many things happened in such a short time that Roo didn't know where to focus his attention. Geoff took his leave of the group and Silent Storm began to cough as if he might expire. Roo was about to fetch his grandmother, but the coughing passed and Kai returned with instructions to not mention the only pony Roo actually really knew. He nodded, knowing he was the biggest liability in that area.
~~~~~
Hy didn't want to travel through yet another magical what-have-you, but it seemed this Kai pony was secretive, and she didn't want to protest and ruin Whisp's chances for finding her friend. She stepped next to Whis and gave a bright smile before walking through the portal unaided.
~~~~~
Kail was just brushing out the last knots from her tail when she heard the coughing...the stop of the coughing...and Kai's muffled voice through the door. She couldn't hear what he said, so she finished her brushing and took a last look in the mirror to make sure she didn't look like a ship-wrecked, time-travelling, whatever-she-was-now.

"Excellent," said Kai, smiling contentedly. "Help yourself to a sandwich and have a seat, I'll be back in shortly." He lead them to the table, where the sandwich trays were starting to look empty. 'I'll have to have Usu bring some more out while I retrieve Kail,' he thought to himself.
After informing His brother of the sandwich crisis in a convenient off-screen moment, he rapped a few times on the bathroom door. "Is everything alright in there?"

Roo had to literally bite his tongue to keep from blurting out his name in greeting to the new strangers, one of whom he recognized in an instant from his grandmother's letters. Of course, it didn't cross his mind that he looked just like his great, great grandfather and that might be noticed by Whispering Wind. So he smiled at them both and let the others introduce themselves first.
~~~~~
Kail was just setting the comb down when there was a knock on the door. She sighed; she couldn't stay in the bathroom forever. It was time to face whatever surprises this future world had in store.
"One moment," she said and draped the compass around her neck again. It bumped against her second symbol and came to rest right in the middle of the heart. At least there was one thing from home she still had, even if everything else was lost.
With one last look in the mirror Kail shrugged at her appearance and opened the door to Kai. "Sorry. It's all yours."
"Açtually," smiled Kai, "I've come to check on you at the request of another guest. She's concerned about your well-being, anđ wanted to know if you were okay. Why don't you head out there and ease her mind?"
Kai didn't know whether his suggestion was too forceful or not. He had tried to make it sound like Tundra had taught him, but Kai was no hypnotist.
She nodded. Eyes of green flickered through the assembly before being shot into the surface of the table between them. Besides Hy and herself there was an ash unicorn, a light blue form with catlike slits for pupils, and someone purple framed by multicoloured pastel mane.
Whispering Wind's heart fluttered and she did a double take before even realizing that she had recognized him. "Razz!" She exclaimed hoarsely. It wouldn't be all too impossible that he too had made it through the Rift. But, again before the name slipped off of her lips, she understood that she was mistaken. At first gaze she could have sworn that he was the spitting image of Razz. She met the familiar, glistening gaze, but it wasn't right. Something didn't add up. This stallion wasn't Razzaroo - he was a unicorn.
"Forgive me," she said softly and padded over to an empty chair and got seated. "I mistook you for someone else." Keen to take attention off of herself, she grabbed a sandwich. Upon inhaling its smell her hunger awoke and she greedily ate it in silence.
To say that Roo was absolutely bubbling with joy would have been an understatement. When Whisp called him Razz he broke out into a large grin.
"Indeed I am someone else, but you have the name correct. I am Razzaroo, named for my great, great grandfather, with whom I'm told I share a great likeness."
The secret was going to kill him if his grandmother didn't get her flank out of the bathroom soon.
"You can call me Roo, if you like." He looked from Whisp to Hy. "It is a pleasure to meet you both."
Hy returned his smile, although she wasn't entirely sure what was going on. "I'm Diamond Hydrangea, but you can call me Hy."
"Hi, Hy." Roo grinned bigger. He loved meeting new ponies.
~~~~~
Kail gave Kai an odd look. "She" wanted to know if Kail was ok? It must be Ember he was speaking of, and she should know that Kail was fine - she healed the peg herself.
"Right. I'll go let her know I'm ok."
Kail brushed past him through the kitchen and stopped in the doorway as if she'd hit a wall. Roo was smiling like...well, like Razzaroos do, and his smile was directed exactly towards the young unicorn Kail was looking for.
"Whisp," it was barely a whisper itself as Kail's breath left her. "You're ok."

Whisp had to pause in the middle of a bite as she pieced two and two together. With a gasp she pulled the crumbles into her windpipes and choked on them. Eyes stung with fresh tears as she forcefully cleared her throat, but once free she found she had no words. She just gawked at Razz. Yes. Yes he was the spitting image of Razzaroo! "H-hi," she finally coughed out, desperately fumbling for something to wipe her face with - and hide it in.
The next big surprise was revealed just then. The unicorn flicked an ear towards the far doorway and turned her head around sooner than she was prepared to face it. Whispering Wind just then praised both the Xanadian and the (former) Ponyville deities. "Moon and rainbows, KAIL!" She exclaimed, choking once again, but this time on her own tears. Through them she yelled muffled, at the top of her lungs: "YOU'RE ALIVE!"
Her chair fell loudly onto the floor as she kicked back, launching herself into the air, propelled through the room and landed in a bone-breaking embrace.

Kai slowly made his way around the room, next to Hy. "I think this translates to, 'mission accomplished,'" he whispered. "Aren't you glad you came?"
He picked up Whisp's chair off the ground, gave it a twirl, and sat down. "How wonderful this is. I can honestly say that this is most certainly the most interesting party I've ever hosted, and I haven't even had anything to drink yet." As if on cue, his hoof found its way to an unopened bottle of spiced rum, which in turn found its way to his lips.

Kail couldn't help but laugh as Whisp slammed into her and they fell to the floor in an embrace. "And you learned how to Wink," she said and squeezed the young unicorn tight. It was amazing how quickly she'd gotten used to Whisp's presence, and how big a hole had formed when she was gone.
After a moment Kail released her and stood, hoof out to help Whisp up as well. "Everyone," she said, but looked at Roo, "this is my dear friend, Whispering Wind."
~~~~~
Hy smiled as she watched the friends embrace, her eyes watering with happiness. When Kai spoke to her she nodded. "Very glad. Thank you for inviting me."
